The European Union aims to become the world’s first climate-neutral continent by 2050 and has increased its binding renewable energy target for 2030 to a minimum of 42.5%, with the ambition to reach 45%. According to Business Markets insight (2022) the European solar energy market is projected to reach approx. €102,2 billion by 2030 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12,7% during this period.

The same accelerated growth is seen in the European energy storage market. Even the expected leap in capacity is unlikely to be enough to meet demand to balance national energy grids, according to industry estimates.

NN Solar™

With NN Solar™ products the utilisation of daylight is significantly improved when compared to silicon-based panels, resulting in a more than double increase in total energy output.

NN Solar™ products achieve over 80% transparency and therefore the products offer versatile and multifunctional solar systems that can be used for roofs, ceilings, exterior walls and windows and e.g., supporting energy generation in self-sustaining buildings. Furthermore, our products serve solar park project developers and those looking to optimise the efficiency and performance of existing solar panels.

Our products are nontoxic and free from rare earth metals. They are durable, weather and break-resistant, and feature significant weight reduction compared to silicon-based photovoltaic panels. Furthermore, production costs, including energy consumption, are significantly lower than those of conventional solar harvesters.

NN Solar™ products can be subtly deposited onto a wide range of substrates and carrier materials, for example recycled and recyclable composite films and panels.

NN Storage™

Energy storage solutions implemented with Nordic Nano’s technology are nontoxic, fire-safe and with a maximum production temperature of 60°C providing significant energy and cost savings in the production process. The energy density of these batteries are superior to both current lithium-ion-based storage technologies and other solid-state salt storage solutions. They also have a lifespan of 50,000+ charging cycles and high power weight ratio efficiency. 

Nordic Nano’s storage solutions are designed to provide balancing power to any-sized products. Our focus includes energy self-sufficient solutions and integrated energy storage structures.
